Azure Public

Cloud

The public cloud is defined as computing services offered by third‐party providers over the public Internet, making them available to anyone who wants to use or purchase them. They are sold on‐demand, allowing customers to pay only per usage for the CPU cycles, storage, or bandwidth they consume.

Eldama offers public cloud services in partnership with Microsoft via their Azure platform.Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through a global network of Microsoft‐managed data centers. It provides software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and supports many different programming languages, tools and frameworks, including both Microsoft‐specific and third‐party software and systems.

Public Cloud would be beneficial for organizations that:

• Have workloads for applications that are used by several people

• Require a test and development environment

• Require incremental capacity on the fly for specific workloads

• Are involved in collaboration projects

• Are developing ad‐hoc software using a platform that offers cloud

Public cloud may not be the right fit for every organization. The model can limit configuration, security, and SLA specificity, making it less‐than‐ideal for services using sensitive data that is subject to compliancy regulations

BENEFITS OF AZURE PUBLIC CLOUD

Lower costs – Takes advantage of economies of scale and are inexpensive to set‐up because there is no need to purchase hardware or software and you pay only for the service you use.

No maintenance ‐ your service provider provides the maintenance.

Near-unlimited scalability ‐ on‐demand resources are available to meet your business needs.

High reliability ‐ a vast network of servers ensures against failure.

Security ‐ Managed disks are encrypted by default when created. This secures any data stored in the disks. Application vendor partnerships allow for easy licensing.

Application – Vendor partnerships allow easy licensing.

KEY BENEFITS

Lower costs – Takes advantage of economies of scale and are inexpensive to set‐up because there is no need to purchase hardware or software and you pay only for the service you use.

Near-unlimited scalability ‐ on‐demand resources are available to meet your business needs.

High reliability ‐ a vast network of servers ensures against failure.

Enhanced Security ‐ Private cloud involves a single organization. This allows you to design network, data storage, and hardware in a way that you are ensured of security and cannot be accessed by any clients even if it is in the same data center

Compliance ‐ Because the private cloud is dedicated to a single client, compliance can be effectively delivered.

Customizable ‐ Private cloud lets you customize and specify network performance, hardware performance, and storage performance.

Hybrid Deployments ‐ Hardware can be integrated to private cloud even if a dedicated server is needed in order to run a high‐speed database application.
